The film was a box office hit and gave wings to his career. His debut Bollywood film was Deewana which was released in June 1992 where he was seen opposite late actress Divya Bharti. Immediately after he arrived in Bollywood, Khan signed four-film including Dil Aashna Hai and many others. During this time, he had not developed any interest in acting in films, but later changed his decision and moved to Mumbai for pursuing a full-time career in Bollywood. Khan also worked in the English-language television film, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones. Along with this, he was also seen working in many other TV series including Umeed and Wagle Ki Duniya. Following this, he was seen in Aziz Mirza’s Circus and Mani Kaul’s Idiot. Speaking about his career, Khan started with television with Lekh Tandon’s series, Dil Dariya, however, after the production got delayed, another TV series, Fauji was released earlier and it marked his television debut. Unfortunately, during this time, he lost his father to cancer followed by which his mother also passed away due to health issues. He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi while he was still trying to make a career in Bollywood. After completing his graduation, he began his master’s degree in mass communication at Jamia Millia Islamia, however, left to pursue his acting career. Next, he got enrolled at Hansraj College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics but spent much of his time at Delhi’s Theatre Action Group (TAG), where he studied acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. While he was still young, Khan started working in stage plays and also used to imitate popular Bollywood actors including Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mumtaz.
